Designed for nurses with a BSN degree who want to achieve the highest practice credential in nursing, the Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner program graduates from St. Catherine University have a long and successful history. For over 120 years they have provided excellent primary care. In as little as three years, you can elevate your impact and play a key leadership role in your organization.
The BSN-DNP program begins with an emphasis on the adult-gerontology nurse practitioner role. You will continue on with coursework grounded in a commitment to critical inquiry, 创新, ethical leadership, social justice, and a holistic view of the patient. It is designed to prepare scholar-practitioners who lead and influence, advocate for justice, honor diverse and global perspectives, and demonstrate excellence in patient care.
In the adult-gerontology primary care track you will learn:
- Competencies to provide high-quality, 富有同情心的, patient-centered primary care with dedication and commitment to social justice and health equity
- Advanced practice nursing assessment and management of common and acute alterations in health for adult-gerontology patients
- Implementation and coordination of care for patients with complex and chronic alterations of health in the contexts of the family and health systems through interprofessional education (IPE)
- Advanced concepts in clinical 信息 systems, patient care technologies, clinical decision support, legal/ethical issues, consumer health informatics, and the integration of evidence-based practice to change systems
The Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP): Nurse Practitioner program is a full-time commitment. Our model provides flexibility for 学生 learning by offering effective online courses and highly interactive, in-person learning for core nurse practitioner classes. We provide the support you need to be successful - our dedicated clinical placement coordinator provides clinical placements for all nurse practitioner 学生s.
